Iva booked in May 25yrs after starting

After first buying steel tube in 2000 and a welder I’ve booked it in

There’s a few bits to do - dash to finish - front mudgards to install - etc

See what happens

Any last min tips appreciated

IC

No tips - oh other than plan to fail the first one. Then you have a list of issues that, once fixed, should guarantee a pass the second time around.

Otherwise just "Congratulations"

Who is this super hero? Sarge? ...No.
Rosemary, the telephone operator? ...No.
Penry, the mild-mannered janitor? ...Could be!

Thanks mate that’s the plan

I’d be astonished if it passed

Everything is there - just not necessarily in the right place lol

Congratulations! Your persistence will soon pay off. I'm also 20+ years into a project. It must be a great feeling reaching IVA.

WELL DONE, go for it...
if you post a couple of pictures we may be able to help you avoid some 'silly' fail points, things like fog light, seatbelt mounts (and seats) and the most silly failure - rear red reflectors.

I got a first time pass and one thing that helped me was to go through the IVA manual line by line and confirm your car fits the criteria, a friend refined it with - get one person to read through the manual aand two people to check - both were first time passes

Agreed - its Maintainability things like removing the brake master cylinder cap is "fiddly" as the Steering column get in the way etc....that we may struggle on

Welcome to the club

I think my advice is "make it the best you can and enjoy using it"

also, look at loads of completed builds and identify the ones that you "Like" and copy the asthetics

some folk fall into the "Chrome is good" stable and others less so.

build what you like and like what you build.

one school of thought: It Does Not Have to be Perfect, just go for something that works for now. you can upgrade anything/ everything later

Thanks - although, I've been in "this club" a couple times before
My plan is -
Round Tube chassis (externally based on book dimensions, but my own design)
Lightweight where possible
MX5 running gear
Budget is none existent
Fireblade RRT engine
1997 ish era engine
Converted to Throttle Body injection (if I get sent the bits)
Turbo from AliExpress (yes, seriously)
Carbon fibre bodywork (DIY)

It will be made in stages (most likely) as I don't have any budget whatsoever, and I'll just buy bits when I can...

I'd put up photos, but I don't know how to get them from my Google Photo's album, and I'm not doing them 1 at a time!!
