Well things didn't quite go so smoothly with the DVLA as it had with VOSA, in short I ran into the same issues others seem to have had lately
with DVLA enforcing the rules that have in reality always been there but they required a NOVA declaration letter.
So with all the papers being returned to me there was no way to drive the car on the road last time I was home.
So it was on with plan B, we loaded her up on the trailer and booked into a local sprint track who were holding a test day, so after giving the Kames
Motorsport complex a more than resonable 35 quid they allowed us out on track all day.
Shake downs are exactly that, bed things in and find any issues. the first one to show up was a sticky throttle, when waiting in line to get my first
turn on track and the engine idling away and warming all the fluids the idle speed picked up a little, so I gave it a little blip and there she stayed
at 5000rpm.
Back to the paddock area and I found once warm the butterflys on the throttle bodies and a tiny notchy feel just off of idle, so as a bike normally
has a return cable to pull it closed we decided there was not enough strength in the standard return spring.
So with some help from one of the forum guys on here who kindly gave me a spring he had in his van we fashioned up a fix and got it going again.
Thanks Alastair (Theprisoner)
So we joined the que and then headed out for our first run on the track.
After a couple of solo runs I went out for a run with my better half in the passenger seat when we ran into problem number 2. on the two right handers
at the high end of the track the rear wheel arch was rubbing on the tyre.

So as we got more seat time on the track and started to get used to things i found the ride to be very compliant, not as harsh as i pictured in my
mind, the brakes as to be expected with no servo felt hard but once over the initial period of getting used to them they were well balanced and plenty
stopping power.
On the handling front there were no quirks to catch me out but i was not pushing on too much as the thought of the throttle sticking again was still
in the back of my mind.
All in it was a good day, minor oil leak at the dry sump tank but no big deal. Another niggle was down in the drivers foot well where the transmision
tunnel panel finished there was an edge that my shoe caught on from time to time leading to some interesting launches off the line.
Some pointless pictures and a video clip.

Great pics
Especially the rubber burning one with the arch contact!
Will you go for the MK wider rear arches?
The wider ones may be the next option but you can see the nearside arch was not perfectly aligned to the centerline of the wheel, we have remounted it
a bit better now but still to test it.
Also the ride height needs setup better when we corner weight it.

Great looking car. Well done on seeing it through and now it's time to reap the rewards.
Look at the niggles others have on shakedown and you'll realise that you've got off lightly.
Fun times ahead!!
