Do you want a torx socket or key?

Both are available in lots of different sizes.

Examples:

if its standard, and similar to my later xev engine, it is a femal torx socket that you need.

Torx --- the manual should give you the size, the correct size will be a really snug fit.

On a seperate note, I've been using a set of these for almost 5 years now and haven't broken one yet. (Mechanic by trade).

Maybe you'd be better putting up a picture if you could, as everybody else seems to suggest there a E bit and i'm pretty certain there a E20 as I know how much of a pig they are to get off.

I'd hope yours is still in the car as I dropped my whole FWD front subframe out to work on my engine and trying to get the bolt undone was turing the engine over even with it in gear.

It takes some serious leverage (a snapon air wrench wasn't man enough!) to get this bolt undone and i'd suggest a can of freezer spray to use on the bolt as heat is not a good idea as it has a rubber section to the front pulley and spares are very hard to find.

Good luck!

the 6 small bolts are number 8 multisplines IIRC, the centre bolt is an e20 torx.
