after market handbrake handles

After my previous post where I basically couldn't string two words together properly causing confusion and suprise nobody able to post answers to my question as it made no sense I thought I'd try again

After market HANDBRAKE levers as per demon tweeks etc. Do they fit over the original unit or is it a replacement?

My original Sierra HANDBRAKE looks a bit tatty and it would be nice to spruce it up. Has anyone fitted one of these and could they confirm how they attach to the original if indeed they do fit over the original. Any info on makes etc that are compatable with a Sierra lever much appreciated.

Thanks and apologies for my eariler post where I couldn't type handbrake and kept typing gear lever instead

I bought one of the Richbrook anodised ally covers which look good imo. I had to hack quite a bit of the plastic covering off the original Escort handbrake but it is only cosmetic so you don't weaken it by doing this.

The end result is quite a posh looking handbrake, especially if you cover it in Alcantara or vinyl. Rescued attachment handbrake.jpg

Be Careful. I bought a ripspeed one from Halfords, it looked like RazMan's but it was a fail at my first SVA as it is ontop of the trans tunnel it is considered out of the exemption zone and has to conform to radius edge rules.

i replaced it with one from Car Builder Solutions with interchangable ends and Mr SVA was happy. it also looked better than the Ripspeed one

The previous owner of my fiat coupe fitted a Ripspeed handbrake very similar to the one in Razmans pic, and it's awful.

The button at the end rattles if you put the handbrake all the way down, because in the Fiat this doesn't let the handbrake button pop out all the way.

Also if you push the alloy button not dead in the middle, it jams which is embarrassing trying to pull away at the lights etc. Tried to get it off a few times but seems totaly jammed on.
