MotaLeira today's progress
Just tacked these up this morning.
They are not fully welded and have no trangular plates on yet. I also plan putting a rod across the widest point, once they are fitted to the pick up
points on the rear subframe. The second photo shows the A1GP car setup, that I saw at Goodwood on Friday, to show what I mean about a rod across the
bones.

Steve
It is a wheel tether.
Inside the aerofoil profile is a steel wire to stop the wheel flying off in an accident.

Isn't the bar in front of the wishbone the steering rod?

a good rod across the bones , hmmm .
In the GP cars that rod is only there to stop the wishbones from puncturing the tub in the event of a crash as the drivers legs are inside there,
it's not a brace to add stiffness or anything. This was explained at the NEC show by one of the exhibitors.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Maybe so on short span wishbones, but on my car they are very wide and I prefer a bit more strength. I just used this picture to illustrate how I
would be adding the bar to my bones.

Take a look at the top right end of the wishbone. There is a rod end and in front of that, the tether. This has a small shield taped over it.
