Another bodywork colour thread...

A week or so away from ordering my kit and I am still not sure what colour to go for.

I am going for full GRP for the body as I think it looks better and requires less maintenance than ally.

I think all black looks good, but then there's the problem of everybody else not seeing you...

Likewise, after seeing a few, I think yellow looks good. Perhaps with an all black interior. The parents also seem to think yellow looks best.

What do you guys think?

Over 3,000 posts and you haven't decided on a colour yet. A bit indecisive are we ?

I love the ally sides, with............blue, then again maybe fluorescent orange, or a nice BRG.

It's all coming back to be now, what a fcuking nightmare !

Yep Just dont want to regret spending close to £700 on a set of bodywork, then decide I dont like it in 6 months

I like Andys idea. Might ask Darren if he will do a mixed colour set

Benefit of that colour scheme is you can change to pimpy carbon bits without really altering the look of your car.

i went for all yellow but want carbon arches, may just settle for carbon front arches as the backs are bit costly, may paint them black, also the plan is to get it resprayed next year as im not happy wuth the finish on my gts locost panels, they dont even line up correcty.

orange, blue, green, black, red in that order.

as someone said, black body but brightly colours nose cone & wheel arches?

you can always paint it later if you decide you don;t like it or sell and buy new panels.

I went for Oxford blue for my GTS bodywork in the end as I didn't fancy any of the standard ones. It was only £20 extra IIRC for a custom colour.

Mine is also Oxford Blue. In GRP it comes out slightly lighter than std Oxford. Ive lived with mine on the road for a few months and its strange to get used to. In dull weather (ie most of the time so far) it doesnt look too great. I started to go off it. However after a quick polish up at weekend it looked great in the sun yesterday. At some point i plan some Cobra style stripes to lift the colour a bit but using dark silver rather than bright.

If i chose again i would probs go with a really bright blue.

I have also seen a westfield that has painted with bright blue / green flip paint. It looks absolutely stunning. Rescued attachment P2150665 resized.JPG

Two Tone

What I am thinking of going for.....

Is the two tone color that some TVRs have. So the change color as the drive past (god bless TRV and dam the bloody Russian for screwing up our economy)

That would look so cool. but its not cheap, plus very few people have the color epically not locost

the paint is about £260 per litre and youd need a couple of litres atleast even for a locost. the ones which go through less colours are about £180 per litre.

personally im going for bright orange (possibly candy orange for a deeper effect) with twin cobra style matt black stripes
