exhaust too loud

Hi

Has anyone fitted a DB killer to quieten the exhaust?

Do they make much of a differance? And do you loose much power

a firend has one fitted on his new fireblade bike (in repsol colours and a tasty aftermarket exhaust). He went to the nurburgring last month and was pulled over for having a loud exhaust, he went back to the hotel and fitted one of those quieteners and he was not pulled over again....so i quess they either did not check his exhaust volume again or it had a positive effect.

I fitted one at the weekend to a new carbon can and it's burnt it....the seam is split...it's knackered...certainly quieter though..
that cans going to be ever so quiet...the only place it's going is in the bin

Which would suggest it is causing a hideous amount of back pressure, as I suspected when I saw the first pic.

I haven't taken it apart yet....it's the can that's knackered...
Marc at MNR used it ages ago in a non- carbon can....it was fine..

can you not just pack in some extra wadding.

Ive never done this so dont know if it is possible or not, maybe you need a special repackable silencer????

At a track day last summer nearly all the gang were refused track time due to noisey chimbleys. A quick trip to the local shops for cans of pop soon sorted them. Simply squish the cans then stuff them up the tail pipe and hope that they stay there till after noise testing!!
It was fun to see the cans fly out on the first straight and see the track chimps try to pick them up!!!!
