Mk Indy back end questions.
I have a couple of Indy specific questions if anyone can offer any insight ?
First and the important one.
If I weld in two plates marked red, 100mmx100mm and 30mmx100mm will this give me any problems getting the diff in / out.
The guy that built the car notched the diff to clear the hand brake cables. Yellow arrow. I’ve got an lsd to go in and don’t want to trash it’s value
by notching it. What have other Indy builders done here ?
Cheers

I lifted the diff in from underneath.
I didn't notch the diff, but sleeved the handbrake cable with rubber hose at the diff contact points.

Like 40 inches my handbrake cables rest on the diff inside some rubber pipe

Same here, no notching in diff. My cable runs above rails and is supported by a couple of brackets with grommets.
Under Boot
As said remove diff from bottom then plates won't be a problem.

Exactly what I did on my MK Indy - diff in from below and certainly didn't "noth" the diff for the handbrake cables.

Thanks for the info guys.
I notice from the photos that my handbrake adjuster is another 50mm in to the tunnel. Any way I can crack on with my swirl pot install.
