Standard plate, but it has been in the passenger foot well since it fell off on a sleeping policeman (I set it up to be my height gauge!)... Sorry office - it just fell off!

"Sorry officer it fell off, I've just been to the motor factor to buy a new one (quickly opens boot to produce new plate) I'm just on my way home to fit it."

seriously though I have been through the options, the std plate is too big and does catch, sticky flexible one isn't legal iirc, small one would be best option, still not legal and Mr plod may take more offence to an illegally small plate than the missing plate routine. I may reevaluate if/when I get pulled for it

Starting to think numbers stuck to the top of the nose is the way to go.

mine fell of because it was too big, was gonna put a smaller one on it but then adam told me not to bother because he got done by the police for having a small one because the anpr cameras cant pick them up. cant win so dont bother, im not gonna keep buying big plates for them to get smashed off and in the long run its cheaper to pay the £30 once in a blue moon for a missing plate than it is to keep replacing them.

Mine is a full size plate on hinges so it moves if I hit anything.

If you have a small or illegal plate then you can get a £30 fine and 3 points.
If your plate is missing then it is only a £30 fine.

Stuck mine on the top of the nose cone (as in stickers, not a plastic plate)

I thought it was hinged to swing up out of site when driving at speed (out of site of cameras)?

Won't mention the fish tank wiper

You are not seriously paying out £30 for a replacement front plate

Last single plate I bought was £6.00 or £20 a pair with a marque specific shaped rear.

What gives you that idea. AFAIK, anything concerning number plates is a non endorsable offence.

The £30 is referring to the occasional fine.
