Essex V6 exhaust diameter?
Hi all,
Before you say,I have googled, and there must be someone here running a ford v6!
My old man is picking up a Gilbern Invader as a project, probably the least of his worries is the exhaust, but its something I can make in work when
we're quiet, while he rips the rest of it to pieces now he's retired!
What sort of diameter pipe should I be looking to loose should I trip over any in work?I'm thinking 2 pipes with a crossover, and also what
sort of size for the headers?
Its not for performance, just to look nice, and hopefully sound ok,and just to keep me from clock watching on Friday afternoons!
Cheers
Chris

Scimitar pipes for the essex v6 engine are Ø1.75" front to back. As for manifolds take a look at tubular manifolds on ebay for a scimitar as
they are very well designed. Remember though that the scimitar downpipes pass down halfway along the cylinder heads whereas a capri are vertical
towards the back of the cylinder heads. (If you need any dimensions I have tubular manifolds for each!)
You won't need a balance pipe as a v6 fires evenly between the cylinder banks.
If at first you don't succeed, hide all evidence you ever tried!

Wish I could get one for the Landy (getting an adaptor is the real issue )
