Vintage at Goodwood
So did anybody else go last weekend? 4 of us went for the whole 3 days and had a really superb time, Lord March and Wayne Hemingway organised the
whole thing really well. I've never seen so many amazing dressed people (especially ladies!) in one place, everything from the 1940's to the
1980's, we listened to loads of excellent music, Northern Soul and the Craig Charles Funk and Soul show, The Beat and The Damned; and loads of
excellent 1980's DJ's like Greg Wilson, Norman J and Andy Weatherall playing in a reconstruction of a 1980's warehouse, complete with
real Audi Quattro above the bar, and lasers!!
And there were some great cars, bike and scooters from all the era's too..... I'll be booking for next year for sure if they run it
again.

The image below was taken with a 1970's Polaroid with out of date film - me, the brother-in-law and the wife outside the functioning cinema.

To be honest I'm not sure where it was on his land, I didn't recognise it from the other events areas. I think it was just to the north of
the Goodwood hotel. It was at the top of the hill though, the views everywhere were superb.
The set-up was perfect, I could walk from my caravan to the show area in under 10 minutes, so easy to pop back for food, drinks or a rest, or a change
of clothes!! The event site was just the right size, smaller than the FOS, very easy to get around but with loads going on.
Oh yes, and first time ever in a caravan, it was fantastic, I'm never leaving home without it again - SO much more civilised than camping
I'll stick some pics in the archive when I get a chance.

Excellent!
I saw that he had the 'Glamping' area near where the 'Kennel Club House' is, so figured that if one is paying that kind of
money for Glamping and or tee-pees it wouldn't be too far from the action .... so that's good to know
One of Stu's mates, went with his wife, but we've not heard from him, we figured that his other half wouldn't have taken too kindly
to the weather of Friday/Saturday .... (camping...smallish tent) ....
We have decided that we would hire a 'van when we go ......
Looking forward to seeing more pics....
Fozzie
edit to add .... forgot to ask...did you partake in the Roller Disco? ....

Glamping was a total disaster, my sister rented a Yurt, it was organised by an outside company that do them for all the Festivals, it was a total rip
off. It was in the worse spot, bottom of the hill, dark, damp, poorly lit, crap facilities. Goodwood has had masses of complaints about it, apparently
Wayne was none too please, can't imagine they'd get paid. My sister is in the process of stopping her credit card for it.
Whereas us in the regualr camping area had great clean loos, good showers, and lots of powered dressing rooms for the ladies!!
Was going to have a bit of a skate, but was always wearing rather tight trousers and one fall and my arse would have been hanging out

Awwww that's a shame for your sister
They were charging a tidy sum too! Really hope all of the peeps get their money back......
Deffo rent a 'van and go to the camp site then.
Jasper with his ar$e hanging out..now that I would like to see....
You should have packed some flares/oxford bags a la 70's .....
Next year then?
Fozzie
edit to add......putting this in 'Clubs and Events' ...... maybe a few on here, might also go next year ..... hoping that Lord March will
do it again of course!

Brilliant!
Much like the Revival but without the 'racing' then?
I can see my sewing machine coming out of mothballs in time for next year.....
