handbrake positions
as above
it is in the middle of the tunnel ATM but i dont like it there it gets in the way.
pics of other installations would be great or any ideas

I fitted mine (a Mondeo one) vertically to the left of the gear stick, it works fine there.

How about this;
My handbrake lever installation, non-standard.
It's right next to my gearlever (gearlever fits where the circular plate with three bolts is on the end of the gearbox) and really convenient.
That's a Toyota Corolla lever, cables and balance bar etc...

Mine's as Jag's, but on the drivers side of the tunnel and using an MR2 lever, sorry no pix.

it looks good there i will see what i end up with although jags position i also like maybe a little more discreet ie pushed in to the tunnel a bit
