Three UJ to much?

Hi,

Today I assembled the steering in place.
At the rack first an rubber-disc, then 3 UJ's to the steering-wheel.

When i'm turning at the wheel with hand I feel the UJ's lenght-corrections

1. What is the maximum-angle for an UJ?
2. Must the UJ exact be in the same angle? Or is there any tolerance?
3. is this the best way to mount?
rack 0-----]------[------]----- steering wheel

thx!

I think the relative phasing of the UJs could affect this?

That was my conclusion also, but how can I reduce this?

I had this problem with my car. The phasing is important, ie the uj should be in phase for each section.
I used a splined section, and broached section (other bit spline mates with) on the two parts that varied in length.
Very effective soloution.
I used wh trans they sell parts off the shelf , not cheap parts but seem very good value, very strong.
They are on the web.
A VOSA guy said the max angle should be 10 degrees (think he was talking out of his rectum as that is not much for protecive steering requirements), but research says 30 degrees max, 15 - 20 fine.

Cut it out angles where too big.
And started over again.

This is how it looks now. The phasing problem is solved, but less room for the exhaust....

I regret not having made my own engine mounts at the engine....
