Strange ride height question

Seeing the eairlier thread reminded me of something i meant to ask the other day.
Has anyone got any pictures of a sevenesque car running about 5 - 6" ground clearance as that is what i think i am going to have to run and i fear it may look a bit wierd (if it does i will see if i can do something about it)

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

sorry, don't know why but i thought you said 6-9" just read it again

my cars about 3" i think most on here are. so twice as high as most, if it looks weird, smaller wheels will lose about an inch (if you can fit smaller wheels than you were going to)

I was going to use the originals as the tyres are £200 per corner and i cant afford smaller ones.

I'm sure I'm running about 5" at the front (80mm from sump to floor and a good 4-5cm of sump hanging below the bottom of the chassis...

by tin top standards, 5" is still very low.

I don't think that you will notice that you have 6" chassis ground clearance. My car has 6" at the front, and 6.5" at the rear. The sump sticks out under the chassis by 1" so the effective ground clearance is 5", and the nose cone has been taken down to that height, so if that clears an obstruction, then so will the sump. To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

An early warning system! If you hear the crunch of splintering GRP, then you know that in about 0.3 seconds your sump will need replacing
