As Mackie points out, it's an M535i engine, not an M3 engine..
Iron block, alloy head.
218bhp, 229lb/ft, big, heavy, 0-60 in 7.2 seconds in the donor....
It'll do the job.

believe me, its heavy!! That car is going to be a beast, man. And i think I've bagsed one of the first drives - is that so, Hipster?!
So how is the chassis going Richard? I read somewhere that the design is done? Why not start a new thread?
And Chris W - whats the answer so we can all sleep sound tonight?!!
Mark Harrison and
Q986 KCP back from the dead...

Conrod already gave the answer....
Yes the chassis design is about ready but no it hasn't been started yet.
Other priorities at the moment, hopefully the new year.
As for starting another thread I'm not going to...
I'm thinking of putting in place an information blackout until I can show pictures of the engine sat in a chassis. Less chance of people
starting off again on how it won't work when they see the progress that way.

If we get this SD1 Vitesse engine sorted we should both go down to Santa Pod and have a wee race. Britain (well sort of) vs Germany
ChrisW - can you set up a section entitled "Over engined freakmachines" please?

I was going to say we could wee on the Nova crowd at race what you bring but after seeing that turbo Nova at Donington i'm not entirely
convinced we would...
TBPH drag racing isn't up my street really, and it probably wouldn't do 20 yr old drive trains any good.

Nah- don't do that- the less doubting of us are all curious!
We want to see it *now* dammit!
Is the chassis much different from standard? Other than being larger have you changed much?
Cheers,
James

Well as I've said before...
With the Beemer lump in it the thing is gonna be about sudden blasts of acceleration for overtaking the plebs in Novas....
Just a happy coinicidence that it'd be able to leave the baseball cap brigade standing at the lights...
