Anyone got a pic of how the spring tensioner whatsit fits on the cambelt tensioner on the pinto?
TIA
David
i take the spring off them
I have no pics but I remember it rested against the spit pin in the head and I think, the other end is against the arm that the rollers fitted to.
Man it's a while since I did that job
Here's a zoomed in pic of an old rebuild I did. Hope it's clear enough?

Hahaa...My pinto doesnt even seem to have that spring!
You don't really need it, stupid thing never managed to set the tension correctly anyway. I just set it by being able to push the belt in by half an inch. There's probably a more scientific way but as the valves can't normally strike the pistons if it snapped I don't care...
You don't need it, in fact, as was mentioned, they can some off and take the best with them hence some folks remove them.
You can fit it, set the tension, then remove it after.
Nat, what you suggest is exactly what i am planning! I have no spring fitted to mine at the moment, and it its a complete pain to get to the bolts for adjusting it (anyone got a good way?) my belt needs re-tensioning now and its proving a pain.
