Evening. Those of you with bike carbs what air filters have you used? Im wondering about
these cable tied on to the plastic trumpets that
are on my carbs..

they look familiar!!
From what Ive read individual socks aren't meant to be as good for airflow etc as a decent sausage type filter, and IMHO look a bit naff just
cable tied on.
What you could do is buy a square shouldered filter like this, then mount the baseplate to the plate shown on your carbs. As long as you get a filter
high enough to clear your inlet trumpets, it would be a much neater solution and not a lot more expensive.
Hmm has anybody got pictures of the two variants?
I prefer the individual little socks..
BUT at £11.75 EACH they must be joking!!!
Thats a rip-off of the highest order! £5 each for something as basic as that sounds a lot! :p

How about an inlet airbox system. I am looking for one at the moment. I have emailed Triton to see how much his are and I have also seen them on the Plays Kool website.
Howler,
Interesting - any pics?
Any pics howler?
Donut i thought theyd look a bit familiar!!.
How do filters fair up being uncovered when it rains?

not cheap at a hundred quid
Yeah they can take a running jump too! :-) £100 for that...
Need to find a cheap motorbike supplier - or might even ring a breakers - they must be inundated with them...
See my ITG filter application onto a GSXR T/B onto my 4AGE. More pic's in my archive.

Hi all have a look at my filters in photo archives under zx9r carbs Jacko
ITG made me a one piece sock. Basically it is a sausage filter but instead of having a solid backplate it is foam with holes for all 4 of the
trumpets. Mine was a one off due to clearance problems with the pedal box and steering colum mount. It worked out cheaper than one of their normal off
the shelf suasage filters.
Chris
What affect do they have poking out of the bonnet when it rains?? Surley you have running problems.
Some of the individual socks have no support in them so that when you floor the pedal they get sucked into the trumpet and are not that effective.
I did ask Triton for the cost of his air box £65

Surely there must be some reinforced trumpets that don't get sucked in - that are cheap?
I don't want an airbox
Put some wire netting in them to stiffen them up.
How about 4 of these? You'd have to make up some adapters so that they'd fit in a row. Perhaps angle the outer 2 out.
