Ok, so i want a 90degree elbow coming out of my polo rad. I don't want to spend a fortune buying a silicone hose......
any suggestions of a production car hose that would fit - or where i can get a normal rubber hose ?
I'm using the S-shaped one from a Golf II (don't know which engine). Maybe the Polo itself also has a useable one.
I know you said you don't want silicone, but try Highbury Hose on 01283 217750, I think they charge £8/9 for a 90 degree.
but thats the problem, £8 pounds for 1 bend seems extortionate + then i'll want all my bends as silicon and the whole thing will cost a
fortune......
but thanks anyway, heard lots of good things about highbury hose on other lists.

I am going to do the hoses on mine in a combination of stainless dairy tube and silicone pipe. I think I will try and do as much as poss (incl the 90
deg) in stainless and get my mate to TIG it up, and then just use short pieces of Silicone tube to join up at each end.
£9 is quite a bit for a bend, but then when you see how they are made you see why (layed up by hand over a mandrel, autoclaved etc) and you only pay
that £9 once, and you know it will never burst or let you down.

I bought a few of the flexible Gates' hose from Car Builder Solutions but haven't been that impressed.
Then I happened to be in Halfords one day (for my sins) and found they have a large selection of flexible hoses at a pretty good price- so I've
stuck with them now.

Oh yes, meant to add, though off-topic, that their hygienic concentric reducers, suitably squashed at one end, would make perfect stainless exhaust collectors for those making their own stainless manifolds!!
I'm already using copper pipe for part of my water system between the head, header tank and return on the crossflow.
Its just the rad to block / pump that i'm looking for at the moment. I've already got flexible hoses (from halfrauds - impulse purchase) but
i wanted a really tight 90 degree bend out of my bottom rad.
Just to be annoying and upset lots of people, for some reason known only to me, I hate those flexible hoses, I think they just look naff..........but that's just me being daft I suppose!
I agree they do look naff...... but they work & you can cover them with bling styley after thought braided hosey bits
I use an escort original hose that came with the Zetec engine. It has a nuce 90 bend.
Then I use lots of copper bends and flexi hoses.

And while we're at it, what chassis / nose cone are you using? I keep getting paranoid about the placement of the rad as its so tight in the
scrap nose cone i've got.

What's wrong with the VW item I mentioned earlier? You can get it for free at the scrappy! (just look poor). Mine has two 90 degree parts
(S-shaped), so you actually get two!
And yes, the rad IS very tight in the nosecone; I have the same problem.

With the luego nose cone, its TIGHT! But, it does fit, i did find that the hose clips actually fouled the nose so had to turn them so that the
tightening bit was out of the way,
The other beef I have with the polo rad is that its just about the same width as the chassis rails, so getting the hoses into the car can be a
pita.
Apart from that, its a nice rad imo.

I used a Seat 127 rad.
fits good..but its a bit small comparing to the polo...
heigh is ok.
one outlet you move to the the fan switch..
the original outlet you can tap it with solder its made of Coper/CU/koper..
works fine..
also the outlet pipe/ the small one witht he cap.. i filled it with solder material..
i used a another fan in pulling mode, so no nasty fan is seen in my cone..
