Pinto? X-Flow? Rover V8?

Well I'm going away for the week so whilst I'm incommunicado can you all fight it out and tell me what I should fit?

I want about 150 hp, so whats the pros and cons of each? Weight v power v cost v fitting etc.

Its to go in a Tiger Avon (if the chassis ever turns up, 2 months delivery!) and my initial preferences are for something torquey and light, will have about £1000 + carbs and will be built (slowly) by yours truly.

Have fun, catch ya friday

well even tho i love the xflow if u want 150bhp its out for a start

for cheapness AND simplicity id go for the pinto

but for a little extra work sand i dont no but id say it would be easy to get 150bhp outta v8 although i would say it would mean muckin about with the chassis to get it in and woulds mean extra work and would probably mean rewelding your bought chassis which goes against the idea of buyin one in the first place

imo your probably best off using the zetec engine

the 1.8 zetec with some cams, headwork and twin 40's will push out 150-160bhp

the rover V8 is good but i dont think your chassis is big enough?

I love Rover V8's and have big and small bits of them all round my garage, so I'm going to reccommend the Zetec 2 litre. All the 1.8 advantages plus an extra 200cc
