Currently I've got my filter mounted in the engine bay behind the radiator, so it's sucking in pretty warm air. (It then goes via MAF to an airbox and ITBs).

So, I'm thinking about improving this. Either by adding some ducting from in front of the radiator to feed it cold air, or by moving the filter to in front of the radiator.

Ducting will be easier and won't block the radiator (which is already a bit marginal in slow/stopped traffic) so that's currently my preferred choice but open to ideas.

Any suggestions which might work better?

I used a sealed filter with duct pipe running around the radiator into the noise cone. Best of both worlds really....

My plan is to split the bay in two with some sheilding, having hot and cool areas, no idea if it will work, but thats the plan:

As it has been discussed many times before, there is no ram effect on our cars at our speeds so dont consider any postive from this school of thought.

Due to this i would consider enclosing the filter and feeding it via a port in a side panel. This is the way i have seen several charged systems work and would of done this with mine. In stead i made up custom trumpets and put the filter through the bonnet.

i think that regardless of what you do enclosing and feeding the filter will help reduce the hot air more than just feeding an open filter.
