OK, following on from my blind panic earlier, I have figured out how to make the flywheel I have work with the duratec.
The pitch of the teeth looks to be spot on correct, so all I need to do is mill 2mm off the starter motor mounting face (on the actual motor and not
the block) to bring the motor back into the correct position and so the teeth fully engage with the flywheel.
SO can anyone ID the flywheel I have?
The part number is
5S6G-6K390-BA
It measures 284mm in diameter
Bore is 32mm
Bolt holes are on a 70mm PCD and are 12mm dia
It has 110 teeth
It takes 220mm clutches as fitted to the CVH (my new clutch is an AP Racing RS Turbo one) and zetecs (1.8 and 2.0)
I was told it was from a 1.8 but not which engine.
Back face
Flywheel
Clutch face
Flywheel
If we can ID it, then it will be an excellent, and cheap way of converting the duratec to fit onto the type 9 gearbox.

I will take some pics.
The zetec was bassed on the cvh
Edit. Its not focus as the zetec black top would have the 36-1 timming holes and latter ones are the chunky dual mass afair.

Dia is the 284mm tape in one hand camera in the other so looks like 286 but isnt
But the dia of the 1.6 + 1.8 + 2.0 are also 286mm ive just had a measure of them.

Thanks warren, looks very close indeed.
The ring gear on mine is about in the middle of the flywheel, not on the edge as yous is.
What is the bore and PCD of the holes on the cvh ones?
Cheers,
David
Bore and pcd is the same as yours I will check the bolt size tomoz
Ring gear is about 5mm in from the edge.
What are others ie mk2 escort boys / retro ford using ?

Ive had a look on the net and Rs turbo fly's look like mine. ie 1.6 cvh mfi.
Could some one have moved the ring gear ?
This could make or brake the install as the starter is set and you cant adjust the throw out.

Ahh let me know as it makes it worth keeping.
The sump and fly will be worth as much as a full engine.
