Basically, I'm thinking of going to see the new Bond film with the missus. But is it worth splashing £20 odd on?

smart51 - 26/11/06 at 08:50 PM

£20? where do you live?

andrews_45 - 26/11/06 at 08:52 PM

awesome, great fun. More bourne identity that brosnon bond

DIY Si - 26/11/06 at 08:57 PM

I live out in the sticks, and the nearest cinema is 12 miles away, so £13 odd for entry, few quid for fuel, and sweets for the missus. ~ £20.

big_wasa - 26/11/06 at 08:58 PM

yeh its worth seeing, Its Bond but not as you know it

impreziv - 26/11/06 at 09:01 PM

what the dang. you guys pay that much for movies over there?

im in canada, i paid the equivilant of £3 to see it last week.

but yeh, great movie. Daniel Craig did an excellent job of playing Bond. i thought he would screw up the character, but he was awesome.

and they did a good job keeping a good balance of the classic bond elements. Craig was alot more like Connery, than Brosnan.

As said before, "Bond but not as you know it".
Great start slow middle and a bit more gritty.

No "Q", but i suppose this is the first book, and it represents Bond first big outing. so im sure the old Bond will return when the next film comes out.

Worth watching but not a patch on "The Bourne Identity" or Supremacy"

Just seen it for the second time today (the kids wanted to see it).
Best Bond film so far.

MattCraneCustoms - 26/11/06 at 09:22 PM

if nothing else, you need to see if for the aston martin. Superb piece of machinery

JUD - 26/11/06 at 09:37 PM

Si, made me smile that you add up the fuel costs when taking your missus to the flicks. . I remember doing that when I was your age Go into town, cinema, chips, bus home and still have change out of 10 bob. How times have changed.....

As for the film - I took my wife who thought it was great and she HATES James Bond with a passion, so that is a good endorsement! The kids thought it was good too, and I think it is the best Bond to date - less cheesy lines and no bombs being de-fused with 1 second left on the timer (again). Some will say that ruins part of the Bond "charm", but I think they have improved it.

Cheers

Martin

Go and see it. Take a Notepad and pen, and try and spot as many product placements as you can

Seriously though, I thought it was quite good. Definately worth the ticket!

Cheers

mookaloid - 26/11/06 at 10:44 PM

yes go see it

Not the same waiting till it comes out on the telly or DVD

greggors84 - 26/11/06 at 11:06 PM

Definately worth a watch. The product placements werent as bad as the last few, except for the bit with the mondeo he gets from the Airport in the Bahamas. Was like a Ford advert!

I just wrote loads on why had a slight empty feeling at the end of the film, then realised I had just spoiled the whole plot of the film! That was close!

DIY Si - 26/11/06 at 11:11 PM

Cheers for that! Plot spoilers would be a bit rubbish really!

Peteff - 26/11/06 at 11:20 PM

I haven't seen this one yet but I bet he get a shag, gets beat up and finally gets the baddie.

foskid - 27/11/06 at 09:19 AM

I saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it, so did her indoors. But no crystal ball required

Agent Fake - 27/11/06 at 10:45 AM

Well worth the expense - superb film

trogdor - 27/11/06 at 11:41 AM

much better than i thought it would be, daniel craig is muich better than the last bond, to my surprise!

GF liked it too, and she really really really doesn't like bond films

Gav - 27/11/06 at 01:14 PM

I Think Daniel Craig was great, one moment he's looks cold hearted then the next moment he smiles and you see the human side.
I really enjoyed it too, i found the last few quite cartoonish, but this imho is the best bond ive seen yet.
