My engine's out at last
pdm - 18/4/10 at 02:37 PM

Well given when I told my missus I'd finally got my engine out she said "about time" thought I'd share my excitement here even though it's probably small beer to the most of you veterans.

Thanks for all the advice I've been given along the way over last few weeks (strewth sound like I've just passed my IVA dont I !!) - it's first time I've ever removed an engine and due to the help I've got on here, not only has it come out in one piece but I also understand everything I've needed to do, how to do it and why !!

It's a BMW 325i 6 pot and I'm looking to put it into a GKD Legend.

However, I've read in CKC magazine that Luego are planning or have already got BMW donors. Also I am sure I read on here the other night that MNR are looking at getting an E36 BMW built car to Stoneleigh.

Just wondering if anyone has more inside/upfront knowledge on either of these ? Will either of them use the 6 pot ? (Suspect Luego might).

There's a few jumping on the bandwagon now all the hard work about what fits what has been done Having a car at rolling isn't the same as having a finished IVA'd product though.

It'll be interesting to have a look around them all

Yep but that was just an engine, on ford running gear, I mean using a bmw as a single donor so running gear etc etc.

That's the key thing for me, I wanted to do the "traditional" donor/kit route and use everything from one car.....

It means it'll be easier to replace parts/upgrade in future.

was thinking about one of these before I built the Viento

I love the sportster! very nearly got one but didn't like the way you use the whole front and rear subframe/axle/suspension assembly Doesn't make for a lightweight car but it sure looks nice. Expensive mind.

Worth asking around the other forums about after sales support/costs too.

Has anyone on here built one? Even with all the above it's still on my maybe one day list.
