Analogue rev counter on Duratec
laptoprob - 4/2/14 at 03:40 PM

Anyone help me here please?

Ive got a Tiger rev counter which i don't suppose is much different to other analogue rev counters. I wired it to the negative on the Duratec coil pack and its working but only reading around half of what it should be (i.e. 1k on counter, 2k on engine).

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Wasted spark?
Although that should double the reading not halve it!

From memory the coil pack is split into 2 sides so your only getting signal from one side. I had to build a small circuit to allow it to be connected to both sides of the coil pack. That's a GM coil pack tho.
