Just read the ACE (Association of Car Enthusiasts) site. Apparently SVA will finish at the end of February as the testers will be trained up for IVA in March so if, like me, you are trying to get in before the new test GET GOING!!!!
i'm pretty sure the VOSA website says 29th april
quite right
linky
Rescued attachment IVA.jpg

VOSA will not accept applications for SVA after 28.2.2009. The SVA has to be caried out by 28.4.2009. If it fails it can be retested under SVA regs
for 6 months.
Anything else is subject to BIVA.
so if the sva finishes at the end of april, is the new bIVA coming in straight away at the start of may or a few weeks later?
it starts on the 29th April by the looks of their website.
Someone said the other day that with the IVA manual still not agreed they would not be supprised to see the IVA delayed.
now that would be daft to aim for, as it might happen on the 29th, but the closer we get id guess the liklehood of a delay increases... it is a
government agency after all.
Five quid says it WILL be delayed...
They (DSA & DfT) fecked up in the introduction of the new bike licence test which was meant to be intro'd in october '08... the day came
and far too few of the new testing stations weren't ready in time.....
The new test is now due to be introduced in march 09, but all those who paid for the new test won't be getting a refund on the difference in
price from the old test (about £30)... IIRC it worked out the dsa had made about £17k out of it...
