How close should bodywork and exhaust be?
Gergely - 4/12/08 at 06:26 AM

Hi, we have made the exhaust cutout for the MNR and it looks pretty neat.

The only question is, will it not be too hot near the exhaust to melt the GRP?
How close should I trim the bodywork and how sensible is GRP to heat? What do you recommend from experience?
Here is a picture of how it is today.
Thanks!
Gergely

If the gap is the same underneath as well - looks about an inch - you should be fine.

inch clearance all round as above should be good, just make sure the power commander map isnt too lean

if you fit a metal escutcheon (is that the term?) - a surround round it, not only does it look nice but it will sink some of the heat so the overall temp will be less ... I think ....

You wont melt the GRP. The worst that would happen is that is would discolour.
