Subject: Car selling scam from a mate in the airline industry.

One of our head aircraft engineers has just been scammed.
He bought a car privately, handed over the cash and then the seller asked if he could have a lift home.
So our chap said of course but they had to go to the petrol station first as the car was nearly empty, he filled it up and went in to pay having taken the keys with him.

Whilst he was in the petrol station the scamster took out another key and
drove off with not only the car but the car log book, money and our chaps travelling bags including his passport!

The Police said this is happening at the moment!

Be careful - lots of tow-rag, thieving scum out there!

Cheers, Pewe

Moral of the story, buy the car at their house like you're told to in all those guide things. Then if they ask for a lift home you know full well they should be home..

This method also covers dodgy cars
