I know stuff all about Birds. This has been keeping me company outside the garage recently, it's quite big and not frightened by noise or people, infact it chases all the magpies away. sorry the pictures grainy but My camera's quite old....

Common enough but still very striking birds close up.

i planted a tree in my garden just so that i would have somewhere nice to hang bird feeders. Im planning ahead, its about 2 foot tall so far

Being a Locoster could you not weld up a feeder? My neighbour made a squirrel proof one, now they jump off a nearby tree and land on top of it...

Jay indeed... gorgeous bird and becoming increasingly rare, especially in gardens. We have started getting Squirrels in our garden... got a few tricks lined up so far he's passed the first one...

We get parakeets on our bird feeders. Apparently they started as a couple of escaped pets about 15 years ago, now there's a flock of a couple of hundred roaming north Surrey

The parakeets are fairly common now in the South East - I believe that the RSPB now class them as a native species.

We've had them in the garden - funny to watch them being mobbed by crows, who then find themselves swooped upon by the avian equivalent of an F-15! The parakeets are FAR better fliers than the crows!
