Someone told me that it is a similar case for someone who is dyslexic - not seeing the letters in the middle properly?

As I have mentioned before I have dyslexia, although massively less than when I was a kid.

With dyslexia (for me anyway) it’s more like you are very tired and trying to read, in that your eye can’t fix on the correct words and it just ends up a jumbled nonsensical mess. It’s actually far worse when it comes to spelling, I personally can’t see the words in my head at all or numbers for that matter. It is all very strange as I have an almost photographic memory and am very artistic but when I think of words or numbers there’s nothing, just blackness. Even very simple calculations like 27 + 46 are totally beyond me to do in my head, handy then that I work on calculations all day…

More annoying is the apparent ability to see things that aren’t there; no I don’t mean ghosts or pink elephants! No I mean if I am reading something say a code or project numbers, if I was looking for a particular one, that is exactly what I would see and could swear blind it was it except its not at all. Which means I am an awful one for working happily away in totally the wrong project and only notice when the computer thorough’s a wobblier, oops

Anyway it is gradually getting better but has had a huge effect on my life over the years, oh well c’est la vie…


off course I had to type this in word to deal with the rather large number off goof ups!
