joioning stainless steel (no welding)

I keep going to Wilkinsons and looking at the stainless steel tea/coffee containers thinking this would be ideal for an oil catch tank.... but will need some brackets and inlet fitted.

The latter may be avaialable as a screw in fitting but what would be the best way to attach some stainless steel brackets?
not using a welder.

is soldering possible? plumbers solder?

Failing that, rivets and pu to seal or those selaed rivets?

It would be nice if the top was screw on but it is not some some sort of bracket is needed to hold that on.

What about a

Omega

shape clamp (think coil bracket) made from s/steel strip and bolted/rivetted to the bulkhead. No sealing issues and no need to make any joints either.

how about just clamping it (tightly)

you could make a bracket that it sits on (so it can't fall out the bottom) then just clamp it on with something (U bolt / exhaust clamp type things would be a a crude way - a bent SS strap or 2 of somekind might work)

it might make it easier to take off and clean out :?

You can silver solder stainless but you then have the heat colour to remove.

Spotted this on a Waitrose shelf once.

You can soft solder stainless steel but you have to use phosphoric acid as a flux

I bought one of the tea containers £ 1.99

they are selling sugar containers, slightly smaller with "sugar" engraved on the outside and rubber seal 1/2 price for £ 1.49.

You may think I am joking but believe me this is true, if you have not got any ohosphoric acid then use coca cola the genuine full fat version not dietmake sure the bits are spotlessly clean
