6mths ago i'd have taken ur arm off for it but jim at tiger put me off bike engines sayin car was too heavy/crusin at high revs/highly tuned engine(fragile) as opposed to a fairly std car engine that cruises at 2500rpm.

I also have a Tiger Supercat and had a ZX9 in it for 1 year and now swapped it for a 2.0 Zetec because i only use it on the road and with the ZX9 it was indeed not that good to drive you always have to keep the revs high and the first times it gives the race feeling but after a few times driving it started to bother me because like Jim said the car is a bit to heavy for a bike engine.
You could go to Raw Engineering for a Toyota 4age package with management and bellhousing to go onto a type 9. Mel at Raw is on 01432 371169. You probably want a Silvertop @+/- 150 BHP. Probably the lightest 1.6 car engine around....I wait to be corrected!
I might give him a call too- I'm in a very similar position to tigertom and am looking for a complete 'lift+drop' engine package.
Wouldn't like to spend much more than £1000 if possible - is this realistic?
1.6 zetec se is lighter than a 4age. You did not have to wait long did you

I don't doubt the K series Rover is lighter too

I have just bought a Mondeo 1.8 for € 300,-. Liberated the engine, ECU and wiring loom, fuel pump etc. Then I have scrapped the remnants. Cheap as
chips, and I have everything I need.

Weights are hard to find, but I do know a bare 20v 4age weighs 80KG.
but that's what I (and suspect the OP) am trying to avoid. I don't have the time or facilities to break a car so it's the main thing
I'd be prepared to spend a load of money on (I have even less time than I have money).
Cheers
