As progress on the kit car has been minimal for a number of years I have decided to sell my partially built Locost Kit Car.

The car is a +4 +4 +2 chassis that has a cockpit which is 4 inches wider, 4 inches longer and 2 inches higher than the book chassis. The chassis has been built with Rorty IRS rear suspension while the front suspension has been built with anti-dive geometry.

The engine is a 1.6 litre ford pinto engine that I bought as an engine that had been reconditioned and was still in its delivery plastic. I have installed it in the chassis but I have never put oil in it or tried to run it. The engine has been coupled to a 4 branch free flow exhaust that has been modified to clear the Locost Chassis. Additionally the cam has been changed to a fast road cam from Newman Cams

The gearbox is a 5 speed type 9 gearbox taken from the donor Sierra. As i have found all of the gearbox extension mechanisms to lack feel and positivity I have extended the gearbox selector shaft to correctly position the gear lever.

The donor vehicle V5 is available as is the part of its chassis that had the chassis number stamped on it.

The car is located in Addlestone Surrey and as I have access to a trailer I could transport it at cost if the buyer requests.

Given the rate that recon pinto engines and type 9 gearboxes are going for my price of £600 for the lot seems reasonable

Additional I have an engine hoist for which I am looking for £75

I am having a new knee fitted on 20th Feb so i will not be able move it for about a month but contact me and we can discuss arrangements.
