Small brakefluid leak
dr-fastlane - 16/9/06 at 05:55 PM

Hello,

Today I saw that the bleed screw of one of the front brake callipers (Teves) leaks. It seems to me that the brakefluid comes between the bleedscrew and calliper body.
Has someone experienced this same problem before? And how can I solve this?

Greets Roy.

silly question
but have you tried to nip it up ?

if that don't work tried a new bleed nipple
if the fails the new caliper

It is possible that the caliper is cracked because someone before you overtightened the bleed nipple. The force of the taper at the bottom of the screw is capable of splitting the casting. Hope I am wrong.

How about a little Locktite Threadseal on the nipple thread?

The caliper and bleedscrew are new. For this reason I find it strange. Today I will look if the screw is not overtightened, or that I perhaps cracked the caliperbody or bleedscrew. And fit an new bleedscrew on Monday.
To all thank, now I know where to look at. I will let you know how it has gone.

I've found it, i think. Perhaps i might have tightened the bleeding screw to hard. The tip of the screw has some markings on it.
The caliper casting seems oke.
I'll replaced the screw with an old one i had and now it seems to be alright.

Thanks for helping.

T.J. I thought that you would say that
