I now have in my frozen hand a MAC
the re test was for the speedo, i barely slept last night and i was out checking the car at 5.30am this morning
after the checks and i tried to satrt the car. nothing. the last thing i had been playing with were the carbs, so thought number 1
something is wrong. wound them right back and NOTHING
after a couple of minutes i checked that the imobilizer card was in properly....It was'nt. Not a good start, and the car is
running bad.
set off and the speedo was working well, stopped for petrol and turned the carbs up a bit... running better
got to norwich at 7.45 and had to wait.
pulled onto the rollers and started talking to the tester.... what have you done Mr Lewis... I've put the sensor on the half shaft as you
compatriat suggested.
i'm afraid i cant test that because of the diff and its effect
is that a fail then? i asked
No he said i will just drive it around the car park to check it works.
once round the car park and he signed the certificate
another turn on the idle screws and home i went sun shining FANTASTIC
i'm so hyper, chuffed so so
just the DVLA now
time to put the car away and thaw out i'm so cold
ditch
Nice one. After the feeling of joy I had getting mine thru an MOT I can only begin to imagine how great an SVA pass must be
Amazing sense of achievement isn't it
Well done that man!!!!
I remember the feeling of driving away from the test centre, with my MAC in my pocket, no plates and a lovely dry November morning.
I took the long way home!
Cheers
Mike

many thanks lads, i'm still on cloud nine
it's such a good feeling to be on the road in a car that you have built.
i'm only just getting the feeling back in my fingers as it was so cold and windy this morning before dawn.
i've got over 350 miles on the clock going between the SVA centre in Norwich and home (60 miles each way).
i just need to tune the carbs again so that it runs well, but it was fast enough to see off all comers this morning
ditch
Well done Ditch,thats great news.
I hope to see you and the car next year at some of our meets.
Enjoy the beer this evening.
Nice one, Ditch - You wait until you put the last fixing in for the plates - The feeling of driving a road legal car that you have built doesn't get any better...
Hooray!
(and about time )
Now I expect to see you around the south-Suffolk lanes when I'm out and about!
[Edited on 7/11/07 by David Jenkins]
i've spent some time trying to fill the DVLA forms in

meets next year.
ditch
Nice one Ditch a good feeling isn’t it.
Mine passed today. Got mine M.O.Ted today as well because the DVLA said I have to do that first and send it with the paper work for the Reg.
number.
Well done again
Rob
This is all very strange because only the other day we had a definitive answer from DVLA that a Q plate car does not need an MOT before it can be
registered. quote
Q-plate and ? MOT after 3 years- THE ANSWER from DVLA
oh happy day
Thank you for your email.
I can confirm that your vehicle does not need an Mot until 3 years after the date of first registration. Unfortunately the vehicle system currently
outputs a message requesting an Mot on the V11 Vehicle License Reminder. Due to system constraints and we are unable to amend this at present.
In order for you to license your vehicle you will need to apply by completing application form V10 and submitting it with your Registration
Certificate V5C, insurance certificate and fee for tax to your nearest DVLA Local Office.
A list of DVLA Local Offices and addresses can be found on the website www.direct.gov.uk/motoring

P.S Congratulations Ditch and RobH on getting through SVA, not without a certain amount of buttock clenching I'm sure during the test. Anyway
jolly well done. I'm expecting a test date in December for the Phoenix and already, I'm getting paranoiac!!
