I have been scouring the SVA manual for information regarding the rear reflectors and can find nothing regarding how large or small these should be.
I'm not talking about thickness here or the minimum edge radius, I am referring to a minimum area.
Am I missing something or is there no regulation governing this?
The reason I ask is that my local motor factors have some small oval reflectors that I would like to use. They comply with min radius but are only
about 25mm X 15mm.
Too small?
As far as I know there is no minimum area, MAC1 use very small ones and have passed SVA with them.
HTH,
Rich.
I've gone for a relector similar to the size of the rear lights, (landrover type) I want the car to be seen if the lights are out
Not alot of help, sorry

Again - not sure if it helps, but are the motor factors ones the same as these:

I went through SVA with square reflectors then fitted these afterwards. Not sure if they have/need e markings, though

Did it pass with the clear lens stop and tail lights as well or were these fitted post SVA?
apart from the number plate this is how it passed sva
Mine passed sva with nearly exactly the same light & reflector arrangement except my number plate light is an up lighter, and Ive also got a
reversing light.
They did have a good look at the intensity of the rear tail & stop lights which midly worried me on the day but werent commented on.
My solution
