will I gain anything

While working on the wifes intercooled Pajero it suddenly dawned on me that the blade is breathing warm air.
My question is if I cut 2 holes were the white stickers are and relocate the air inlet pipes to the filter and then blank off the original intakes will the engine work any better not that there's a problem with it

Yes - the cooler the air you put into the negine the more power it will make and the longer it will live - just make sure the new inlets realy are in cooler air.

Looking at the pic a better solution would be extend the two inlets forward into the nose cone with some ducting, pick air up from in front of the radiator ??

Shrink the pic a bit, its fell off the side of the screen.

Definately will improve things, rip them rubber trumpets off and use larger tube and duct to the outside world.

I raced a v8 landrover, when pulling air from around the engine it ran much hotter and pinked, I then ducted to the outside world and it made a huge difference.

Well worth a few hours.

If ducting to the front you should probably have the fuelling rechecked. More air = lean running = less power so you need to get the balance right.
