I'm at a point where I'm not sure what to do next on my Indy build.
It's rolling with brake and fuel lines in, engine, gearbox etc. Left to do are the electrics, cooling, bodywork, dash and interior (panels,
seats, back bulkhead etc.)
I feel that I should do the bodyworks first so that It is all lined up ready for the cooling system (rad & expansion tank, etc.) then electrics
(battery, fuse box, ecu, etc.), but I'm worried about scratching the panels.
Whats the best order?
Electrics next including dash I reckon.

I would like to do the electrics next, but I assume that I'll have to fit the scuttle to align the battery/fusebox/ecu panel and dash in order to do the electrics. Does it matter that the scuttle isn't 100% accurately ligned up at this point?
I would lay out the electrics and run them where they need to be. Then do the dash so you can plumb the electrics into it. If you can use a multi plug
between the clocks and loom so if you need to remove the dash you only need to pull one plug.
Once you know where everything is going you can plop on the connectors.................or if you are like me get an expert to do it
I'm at the same stage and I'm doing the cooling next - I figured it'd be easier to run the loom around the coolant hoses rather than the other way around. Then I'm doing the electrics (just leaving the dash stuff tied up to the steering column until the scuttle is complete.
I'd second a multiplug on the dash. I must have taken my dash off about 20 times in all and having a couple of multiplugs for the entire
dashboard loom simplified things no end!!!!
I'd personally do the loom next, get that in place, then do the cooling, then the bodywork (to get the scuttle in its final place) then take off
the nosecone, bonnet etc, do the final electrics.......
I'm glad someone else has asked this, now I'm a lot happier about having spent the last few days in the garage just staring at it wondering
what the hell to do next I keep deciding to do something, only to think I need to do something else first to make sure it'll fit etc, and
going in circles.
I've ended up unpacking all the bodywork and laying it on to see how much space i've got. I guess the wiring is next up then...
I hear you. I don't have an MK, but I'm missing important nuts and bolts from my kit of stuff and am frankly getting tired of running all
over town looking for them. I wonder if I'm making any progress at all, even though lots of things are hanging there, unbolted. I know where
things OUGHT to go now at least.
ps anybody know how to get the half shafts into the diff on a 93 MX5??? I'm afraid to push to hard lest I wreck something that might cost a
fortune to replace.
Manual says they just come out with a pry bar and go back in by 'lightly tapping with a plastic hammer'...
