Anybody had problems with the indy extended column being too short?
On initial assemply mine seems to be about 10 - 15mm too short.
did you make it yourself ?
i had same prob on mine ages ago make sure the steering column is fitted in right and the bottom bush is seated correctly.
you should have a pin in one end of the uj connects to the column .
the other end can only fit in one position on the rack as it has a specail bolt and notch cut into th splin on the rack
hope this helps
No, bought it from MK.
I'll get back in touch with them if I can't easily sort it to check what length it should be.
Thanks
As said earlier make sure the column is seated in properly, mines an old indy and the steering shaft was not part of the package when i bought mine.
I made my own up and got a pro to weld it,when fitting i thought it had come up short (my measurements out ) but it was the column not seated properly
in the end.
Can't you just pull the triangular section part of the column out of its sleeve a little further to give you the extra 10-15mm (assuming the bush is seated correctly)??
I've just discovered that the triangular bit moves - it was a bit tight so it didn't appear to.
It fits now!
Thanks
