MK Indy R Radiator
barbarianbeast - 26/3/09 at 06:27 PM

as above, How??

i haven't got the slightest clue as to how this should go on. Its the one that MK supplied, i think its a modified escort one.

how do i mount it without fouling the inboard suspension or the nose cone? how far out/up/down should it be.
any advice or even a link to a build diary appreciated.

you can find a link to my build on the www button below. There are some pics of the rad in there somewhere. I did use the original bike radiator (and oil cooler below it) though.

i have just fitted mine to an indy r, it is a modified escort and if you have a bike engine they will have modified the outlets.

They supply two brakets that are about half inch bar, it is bent and looks roughly like a g clamp you then paint it and fit your rad. You need to get the top hose above the head gasket, i have just been down yesterday they are doing an ally header tank for 50 quid it looks good and the right size for the pipework i also bought a pipe that is bent to shape that takes fluid from the far end of the engine to the bottom of the rad as its quite a long way. if you havent got the clamps i would buy them, i had to scratch my head a few times, if you want me to put a pic on let me know

lococost, i am impressed with your build. and the way the way you have made the clutch linkage i might have to borrow that. thank you

raptor 700, i think its time i spoke to MK. i have bought the rad brackets but they must be wrong. (or off the older car, they are L shaped) could you send that pic please.
that expansion tank sounds good do they have those in stock.

if you imagine a g clamp with the g part at the top when the suspension moves up and down it doesn catch the bracket, if you get them and still need the pics let me know, i wasn too shore and put a thread on myself, but the top of the radiator sits flush with the top of the bracket saves you messing as i had the nose cone on and off!!!!

i actually saw it on the side and asked, they are making them up tho so give em a buzz, i have been looking for one on ratsport but the fittings aren the right sizes with it been a bike. it looks a good one!!

thanks for the picture, it seems straight forward now.
have you drilled straight through that chassis member and used a stantard bolt?
