zx9 carb pipe identification?

ive got a set of ZX9 carbs to re-space and put on my Zetec, but a bit confused as to what pipe does what, the larger one at the top of the picture is fuel supply to the floats, but what is the bottom 'Y' connectors? Rescued attachment zx9 carbs.jpg

Bit confused by yer picture there.. the carbs are upside down and theres no Y at the bottom as you say...

If you turn them up the other way the input at the bottom of the carbs is indeed fuel which is normally two pipes connected with a T piece.

Then the two outlets at the top between the tow outside carbs are air equalizing breathers which are normally connected with a plastic pipe.

Does that help

What model carbs are they ? some had 1 fuel pipe and some had 2 e model's had 1
