1.8 or 1.6 ?

1.8 is about the same as the escort zetec so if you need more clearance it can be cut and shut to gain a bit. Its steel so can be done with a mig

Sylva kit cars used to have something on their site with drawings. Just had a look and they have taken the technical section off there. Maybe you could email them.

This is ours. Chopped 1600cvh sump (on a 1600). Same capacity as original, with a number of baffles and a windage plate. Seems to do work well. Not yet experience any big surge problems.

One word of advice. Make the drain plug fairly large. A 5/16ths UNF hole is not big enough, especially with 20w/50.

Slight hijack! Sorry.

Does anyone know if the 1600cvh sump will fit onto the silverstop 1800 zetec. Obviously the pick-up will have to modified but in terms of bolt spacing and fitting around the oil pump and crank seal ends I mean

No, only the 1.8CVH sump will fit the zetec.

I chopped my 1.8 CVH sump by 50mm IIRC.
I didn't give it any extra capacity. The chop lost about a litre and gave plenty of clearance.

It's a bugger trying to stop the pinhole leaks when you mig it!
