New dream powertrain?
I hope this isn't old news here Guys the new Yamaha Vmax is out
-1800 cc so good torque unlike your typical Blade or R1
-210 BHP stock i.e. reliable and affordable to an extent
-propshaft drive so mid engine apps likely to get rid of the unreliable chain
-Dog gearbox unlike your typical VTec, 4AGE, Zetec
-Compact unlike car engines, can be made sit lower in mid engine apps

Unbelievably compact for so much power, bet it costs a fortune though
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

Uh I just read it's not out yet.. but it will be soon enough Oh, it's got variable distribution, too
May be not so horribly expensive after all, as Yamaha plans to sell many (they have plan to go mad and manufacture plenty for this model
apparently).

It's a V4, but even so I can see that small gearbox taking loads of torque

As long as it is priced right for the village idiots to be able to afford then donor lumps shouldn't be too far behind the bike launch date.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Why doe the bike have frilly brake discs? Looks like a lace doily mounted on each wheel.
Engine looks like a cracker, can't see them being overly cheap though and won't give the BEC trillion RPM experience

I see it like an interesting trade off, much like some jap car engines but.. more compact and dog gearbox, which is always welcome on a track day car.

Looks like a great engine for people who just can't decide between a BEC and a CEC. Excellent compromise indeed! ;D
