4AGE firing order Q.

Is the 4AGE firing order 1-3-2-4?

Usually, 4bangers go 1-3-4-2

Hey Steve, I saw this post last night and thought.....no problem I'll find that out really quickly.....

But, I was wrong....I could not find out anywhere....least of all in the Haynes manual...grrrrrrr...

So, I await the answer to this one too....

I would be inclined to agree with Ed though if I had to guess..

This was exactly my problem Alan!

I took all the wiring and dist cap off without marking it; because I thought that the answer would be quickly revealed inside the Haynes, or at least with a simple google query.... W.T.F? It's nowhere to be found!

I thought too that it was 1-3-4-2, but the NGK wire set that I bought makes the #2 wire placement very unusual in that order...

All I really need is a photo of the top of the engine to verify plug wire placement...

Steve, Alan,

I can't check for myself at the moment as I am working in Munich but I was cleaning the distributor last weekend and there were numbers on the cap for each HT lead. If you follow these in the same order as the rotor that would give you the firing order.

Funny that...I have 2 Corolla manuals and never though of looking in them.....

Yep, they both have the firing order in for the 4-AGE.....

Maybe Haynes think MR2 owners don't need to know these things....

My MR2 Distributor Cap has a '1' clearly marked where it belongs, but the other 3 locations are blank.

The firing order really is not provided in the Haynes for the MR2!

Still, with help like is found on this website, one rarely needs the manual at all! (That's a set-up for some jokes to be sure!) hehehe
