Throttle Cable
Any advise or pictures of the best/neatest option for attaching the throttle cable to the loud pedal please?

I got a long thin bit of 1.2mm steel, wrapped it around the throttle pedal, I then drilled the pedal / bit of steel and added a snap pin so it
can't move (ok i did this later when i'd decided exactly where on the pedal it should go.
The long thin bit thats left over is drilled and squeezed together. Then you get one of those throttle cable bits thats a little tube with a hole in
the middle and a screw on one end, that goes into the thin steel bit and pivots.
What it means is the throttle cable isn't subjected to bending and stays in a straight line reducing the chance of it breaking.
(now i know why they say a picture is worth a thousand words)

Thanks Mike, have you got a picture? I can't visualize how you stop the clamp bit falling out of the metal strip.

And yes there is a cable, it is entering the centre of the disc through the cable adjuster!

i'll try and get a picture later (i'm ill! haven't left the house in days).
Basically the bit of metal that goes round the throttle pedal and ......... (oh god, here we go again......)
hold on, ascii art....... copy all this to notepad on your pc

* Q = throttle pedal
* the lines around it are the thin metal
* the gap on the right is the hole i've drilled through the middle of the metal.
* the gap on the left is the small hole for the snap pin to go through the metal and throttle pedal. This holds the metal in place.
You then buy a 'thing' like this...

Its actually a solid bit of metal with a hole in the middle that the throttle cable goes through. The hole from the bottom to the middle is threaded
and you put a screw in there to secure the cable going through the middle.........
you'll now notice that end on, (ie looking so it looks like this "O" the hole you drilled in the flat metal is about the same
size.
So, remove the throttle cable, slide the tube bit in the metal, line up the hole in the tube bit with the gap from the metal, slide the throttle cable
in, tighten the screw and .... hey presto.
(reality check, drill the snap pin hole last so you can set the throttle pedal position)
Final ascii art, from above (honestly cut and past into notepad and it looks ok / makes sense).

I used a fitting on end of cable that looks like a banjo fitting. Cablle secured into it with 2 grub screws. The banjo hole then fastened to end of
pedal with bolt. Bolt not tight (secured with lock nuts) to act as a pivot point. Just take some care over the pedal arrangement - a stop would be
good so you dont overly stress the cable on full throttle and eventually snap the cable.
