Zetec in locost chassis, how tight for space?
Thinking about alt engine choice here....
Are Zetec's too tall for std book chasis?

My zetec fits a treat in my locost chassis but iv got luego velocity body work so the bonnet clears which is an inch or 2 higher than book..

Andy, what bodywork are you using?
My rebuild is using a +1" in the chassis height with my caterham size body work i.e. a little smaller than book and it fits just
I'm having to leave the lip on the timing cover as the bonnets resting on this and i've already chopped the sump.
Zetec test

The less I worked, the more i liked it.

As mentioned - my Phase 3 just fits!! The nosecone sits on the timing belt cover at the front but doesn't seem to cause any problems. The
biggest and best change from Xflow to Zetec is that no oil leaks out!

Ours fits under the bonnet with no bulge using a 1.8CVH sump cut&shut. Only just though
Standard Book chassis BTW

I'm using STD chassis and bdywork. Funny how it's as tight as a gnats chuff for some and ok for others. May be in the engine mounts?

I think its all in the height u mount and how low you dare take your sump to the ground..

I have a standard book chassis and had to cut a bit out of the nosecone to clear the cam belt cover. If I had of mounted the engine further back it
would have fitted with just a small bonnet bulge or none at all if put back as far as possible.I used an escort sump shortened to 150mm so it is level
with the bellhousing and have about 3 inch ground clearance which is ok if you a carefull and remember it is limited.
If you havent got an engine already then I would go for a zetec as its so much better than a crossflow especially the absence of oil leaks and easy
availability of replacement engines.

I'm running a +4 chassis, what would be a good option for a radiator with a 2.0l zetec? (located in North america)
