r1 carbs
got some off fleabay, theres a pipe between 2 of the diafram housings missing, anyone know if its just a bit of steel pipe or what,
these carbs were rebuilt by bogg bros before i got them

Hi,
If you show a pic of the carbs, I might have the bit as I had to extend my carbs and so made new bits.

Sounds like the plastic T-piece that just vents ?

the pipe is between the diafram houseings must be a vac pipe i think about 30mm long with a rubber o ring on each end
this pic shows the bit from the other pair of carbs

If it's like the one on my Keihin carbs (Honda CBR600), it's the 'open to the air' side of the diaphragm - it's to let air in
and out as the diaphragm pulls the slide up and down. Originally it would have been linked to some form of air filter connected to the outer carb,
with that tube between it and the next carb in.
You could leave it open, but originally I guess that they thought it important to keep muck out, so it would probably be a good idea to replace it.
In my case it was just a rubber tube, which I split and extended. It's not structural, so anything that gives a reasonable air seal would do the
job.
I've attached a picture of my modified tube...
