Audi A6 gearbox to rv8 engine, whats needed ?

Hi,

Does anyone know whats involved in putting a 5 speed manual a6 gearbox behind a rover v8 ? Because I have a 4.6 one in the floor.

Thinking rear engine after looking at some cars at Goodwood... expecially a little cooper.

Cheers Mark

The V6's are much more common and MUCH cheaper and really rather good, but the V8 is nice Rescued attachment DCP_2404.JPG

You will need to make up an adapter plate and extend the crank by around 20mm It can be done, but I gave up and got an Audi 4.2 V8 off flea bay for £110. Try searching this forum for info http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-tech-powertrain-transaxles/

I am doing this, adaptor sawn off a manual box, to be welded to the Audi box (losely clamped in place), then using the ring gear and spacer for a ZF auto to take the Audi clutch.
