VX Petrol pump plumbing questions

Hello, I have fitted a Vauxhall 16V fuel pump to my car nad have 3 questions:

Is outlet A or B the outlet to the engine?
What does C do? (can I get rid of it?)
Any idea what pressure it works at to help me set the MSnSE?

B is the outlet. It will work at whatever pressure you set the regulator on your fuel rail at (within reason). Most 16v Vauxhall engines were either set to 2.5 or 3.5 bar, depending on the injectors used.

I *think* C is an accumulator, which reduces pressure fluctuations in the high pressure pipe, and also keeps the system pressurised after the fuel pump has stopped to prevent vapour lock. I would be tempted to keep it as it's not very complex to plumb in and mount.

Can this accumulator also be placed behind the fuel filter, as I already plumbed in the filter and pump?

It can be either side, but I have never used one yet and never had any problems at all.

On my old mantas I always used to bin them as they would rot though being under the car, and again never had any trouble. (in 30,000 + miles)
