Gappy flys

been cleaning up my carbs and have found that on my lefthand carb the flys will not close.

They were very dirty and i thought this was the reason but after cleaning up they still will not close fully. When held upto the light you can see a ring of light.

Dirty!!

Are both butterflys open by the same amount? If not throttle spindle is twisted (very common). If they are both open, then try slackening off the butterfly screws to make sure the butterflies are centralised in the spindle.
