dohc sump modification

Hi ! When shortening the sump on 2.0 DOHC, do you also cut away bottom of bellhousing and if so, how much?

I know nothing about the DOHC. Wouldn't have though you could take much off the base of that bellhousing before you get to the ring gear on the flywheel???

Cheers

leave the bellhousing alone you mad man only teasing

I think you'll find the flywheel lives in there, besides you are really going to weaken the housing doing that.

Better to make a 5mm steel skid plate for under the sump to prevent any damage.

No point in chopping the sump if the bell-housing is then the lowest point.

edit
Think I took around 20mm off..
